It is because of the community's support with various fundraising efforts throughout the year that we are able to maintain our facilities and properly care for the animals at the shelter.

Rummage & Bake Sale

We have a fundraising space on our new property at 21918 180th St, Hutchinson, MN 55350 where we host our monthly rummage sales.

That's on a wrap on the 2025 rummage sale season! Thank you so much for your support - we raised $68,953 for the shelter during our 2025 sale season. These funds are critical to fund our shelter operation. Your support is appreciated more than you'll ever know! Check back for 2026 dates!

 Be My Valentine… For a Day!

Looking for a Valentine that really tugs at the heartstrings? Our shelter pets are ready to help you spread the love!

For just $20, one of our shelter pets will send a Valentine card — complete with their adorable photo — to someone special in your life. It’s a sweet surprise and it helps support animals waiting for their forever homes.

 Perfect for:

• A loved one

• A friend

• A kiddo

• Or someone who just needs a little extra love

 We’ll mail the card for you!

Just email volunteers@heartofminnesota.onmicrosoft.com with:

• The name(s) you’d like on the card

• The mailing address for the recipient

• And we’ll send all the details you need (• We’ll reply with payment options and detail)

Looking for a silly (and totally lighthearted) way to celebrate Valentine’s Day and support our shelter pets? We’ve got you covered!

For $1, we’ll write the name of your ex (or someone who makes you roll your eyes ) on a heart and place it in one of our cat litter boxes.

Feeling extra bold?

For $10, you can sponsor an entire litter box and let our most dedicated litter box inspectors handle the job.

 How to participate:

• We’ll reply with payment options and details
